Three nostalgic views of Appleby photographed some years ago.
The first photograph was taken from the top of Beck Lane - no bungalows to block the view of the white cottage . . . . this is the Thatched Cottage! And you can just see The Church in the distance. The playing field is to the right, behind the hedge.
The next photograph shows School Lane, again before the building of modern properties on the right of the lane. Finally, the School (now the Village Hall).
