Appleby Carrs This selection of seasonal photographs, taken on September 15th 2004, has a real Autumnal ‘feel’. All the scenes were taken in the area to the east of the village known as ‘Appleby Carrs’. Carr Lane leads to the River Ancholme some 1.5 miles from the village. The straw has been cut and baled and the fields are ploughed in readiness for the next crop. The brick bridge is over what is locally known as ‘Second Drain’. The final photograph shows St Bartholomew’s Church in the distance.
