The ‘Appleby - Lincolnshire’ web site was created to provide a personal and somewhat idiosyncratic presence for my lovely village - Appleby in North Lincolnshire, on the world wide web. The Website, launched 16 th May 2003, is a purely personal project illustrating those aspects of the village that I hold dear. Appleby is rich in history and agricultural tradition, boasting a beautiful Church and stunning village architecture. Set in wonderfully rural surroundings it has retained a sense of community and self worth. I am proud to share with you some of the sights, characters and wonders, old and new, that have helped to form my love of Appleby and its heritage, together with an accompaniment of illustrative stories, photographs and poetry.
